Photographer Reporter

Alain Bizos, a luminary in the world of photography, honed his craft at the esteemed École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, majoring in painting, and further enriched his artistic perspective with art history studies at the École du Louvre.

In 1969, following an encounter with the renowned artist Arman, Bizos found himself amidst the vibrant art scene of New York. His conceptual photographic sequences garnered attention, gracing galleries in both the US and France.

By 1973, Bizos was instrumental in the inception of the daily newspaper, Libération, and his association with the avant-garde graphic design collective, Bazooka, further solidified his reputation.

The early 1980s saw Bizos return to his French roots, where he spearheaded the launch of the monthly magazine, Actuel. His distinctive, off-kilter portraits and narrative-driven photo essays became synonymous with the publication's unique voice.

In a pivotal move in 1986, Christian Caujolle beckoned Bizos to join the burgeoning Agence Vu’. After nearly three decades, Bizos departed in 2015, continuing to carve his path as an independent photographic author.
