Deprived of almost all their land by those they call "the invaders", they live under siege in their own village, surrounded by barbed wire. Despite regular intimidation and insults, they do not give up and continue to carry the hopes and ideals of the Zapatista movement.

Synopsis

" Surrounded " depicts the daily life and resistance of the inhabitants of the Zapatista community of Nuevo San Gregorio in the Mexican state of Chiapas. Deprived of almost all their land by those they call "the invaders", they live under siege in their own village, surrounded by barbed wire. Despite regular intimidation and insults, they do not give up and continue to carry the hopes and ideals of the Zapatista movement.
